Environment & Ecology

BUP has been working for establishing sound environment & ecology through different activities and observe 5th June as the "World Environment Day" in every year. Through this program BUP had tried to create awareness among the people regarding the crisis of our environment. Also The National Environment Awareness Campaign Program" successfully could implement by the BUP in it project intervening areas from the year 2009, by the financial support of the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India. We have also formed a separate setup named "Barasat Paribesh Bondhu" for the implementation of environmental activities in our project area. Our main motto is to protect the world ecological balance. So we have organized lot of awareness & campaign program on conservation of bio-diversity with the cooperation of West Bengal Pollution Control Board & Local Government.

Training and Skill Development

To empowering the women BUP has formed 196 Self Help Groups (SHG), consisting of 2354 women members in the groups. The members are involved in this programme in three blocks, Barasat-I, Barrackpur-II &Amdanga. The women are implementing small venture for self-employment like tailoring, embroidering, spice making, vegetable gardening, food processing, poultry, animal husbandry, small business etc. In this way women are becoming earning member of the family and getting opportunity to participate in decision-making process. Thus they are becoming empowered through this alternative livelihood options.

Nirmal Ghar Program

The pupose of this programm is to tranforming the Villlages namely Harpara and Madhavpur as Open Defecation Free(ODF) villages in the district of North 24 paragans,West Bengal. Beside of that we have focused on control and prevention of water born diseases also.
